Al's dad came to visit a weekend in May. We decided to make our first official family visit to the zoo on Saturday. It was gorgeous weather and the animals were out and about. We so love going to the zoo!
Colby loved all the birds and tried chasing after them
Had to ride the train, of course!

One of Colby's favorite things at the zoo...he didn't want to leave

If you haven't been to Blank Park Zoo in a while, you really should. They have made a lot of changes and continue to make more improvements.
On a side note, I did run the 20K on Saturday, and I did survive. It was AMAZING! I can't even begin to describe it. I really had my doubts about running, but I was amazed at how easy it truly was. Having 60 degree weather and no humidity definitely helped. It was so much fun, that even though I could hardly walk that night or the next day, I can't wait to run my next race. So...I think I will sign up for the half marathon in October. Why not? And then I'm definitely going to have to run the 20k next year. Now I've got a time to beat! So if anyone wants to run with me, I'm all for it. I would love the company. I know I can do it by myself, but it would be even sweeter to share the experience with someone. I thought a lot about Mom while I was running. I know she would have loved it, and I know she would have been so proud of me. I miss her so, but I am so glad to have discovered running and find a way that I can still connect with her and feel like she's right there with me.

Can't believe how big the kids look!
Congrats on the 20k! That's so awesome! I'm sure your mom was watching over every step you ran, proud as can be!
